Rolla National Airport offers numerous opportunities for both private plane owners and businesses wishing to locate here. The City of Rolla offers 24 total T-hangars, large hanger, and tie-down spaces for rent or lease to pilots and plane owners. In addition, JRS Enterprises leases 6 hangars from the City for sublease to private owners.
Much of the 1200 acres comprising the airport site is non-developed at this time, and is under an existing agricultural lease. The largest business at the airport is currently Baron Aviation, which operates a private fleet of 33 aircraft throughout the central U.S. as a feeder carrier for FedEx, and is headquartered at Rolla National Airport. Baron has been in business since 1973 and a FedEx Feeder since 1975.
In 2014 Brewer Science opened their 22,000 SF Advanced Manufacturing Facility as the first tenant of the City of Rolla’s new "RNA Technology and Industrial Park." The new facility is the first occupant of the recently developed industrial park which included a $2.5 million investment in basic infrastructure. With support from a $1 million grant from the US Economic Development Administration, improvements included a new water and sewer system including a 300,000 gallon elevated water tank for fire suppression.
