EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT
ROLLA POLICE DEPARTMENT

GRADE CLASSIFICATION: 3                   
Full-time, non-exempt
Salary Range: $18.707/hr - $25.894/hr ($38,910 - $53,860 annually)

EMPLOYEE BENEFITS:

DESCRIPTION OF BASIC DUTIES:
Provides direct support to the Chief of Police and serves as a primary administrative liaison for the Department, requiring frequent interaction with employees, local officials, government agencies, applicants, vendors, and the public. Directly involved in a broad range of the Department’s organizational objectives to include personnel processes, budgeting, purchasing, travel/training, planning, payroll, reporting, and other specialized administrative activities. Provides statistical and analytical support. Custodian of administrative and personnel records. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Graduation from an accredited high school or GED equivalent. Considerable experience in the use of computers and various office machines is desired, specifically a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Demonstrated skill in typing and preparing professional correspondence. Three to five years of progressively responsible office or executive administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to read and write the English language. Must have ability to read and comprehend departmental and/or other directives; work independently with a minimum of supervision; possess excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail; and be self-motivated. Must be able to tolerate work of a routine nature and have a strong sense of loyalty with a dedication to purpose. Must demonstrate sound judgment, professionalism, discretion, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality while handling personnel, legal, investigative, financial, and executive information. No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal histories will be allowed. Must pass office skills assessment, interview, polygraph exam, background investigation, and drug screen.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or operate objects, controls or tools. Must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
