The City of Rolla's first priority during a snow event is to keep the roadways clear of snow and ice. This requires crews to make several trips along the same route to ensure the driving surface remains clear. Once the snow has stopped falling, crews will return to the area to widen the cleared areas and clear the shoulders.

As crews clear a path, snow plowed from roads could possibly block a private drive or entrance for some time. The City understands the inconvenience this can cause, but due to limited time and resources, plows cannot clear  private driveways.
