Adopt a City Feature

Adoption Application

The "Adopt-a-City Feature" program is a great way for any organization, business, or individual to get involved in the community. All throughout the city, people are lending a hand in keeping the environment clean for everyone to enjoy. Adoptable features include streets, streams, spots, and various locations in Rolla's many parks. There are many opportunities available, but volunteers are needed. Please sign up to help today to keep Rolla looking beautiful."

How do I apply?

Applications for streets, streams, and spots can be found here. For parks, a separate application is found here. These are to be returned to the Public Works Department and the Parks Department respectively.

How long is adoption?

Adoption for streets, parks, and spots lasts a minimum of two years. Streams are adopted for a minimum of one year.

How many times should I take care of my adopted site?

For any adopted street, park, and spot, there should be at least four cleanup times per year. Streams require a one time per year cleanup. Cleanup activities must be undertaken only between the hours of one hour after sunrise and one hour before sunset, and must not be undertaken during inclement weather.

Who can participate in a cleanup?

There should be at least one adult supervisor for every eight participants between 13-17 years of age and at least one adult supervisor for every four participants between 6-12 years of age. No one under the age of six will be eligible to participate in the program.

Do I have to use my own garbage bags?

No, the city will provide you with garbage bags and will collect and dispose of them properly.

"Do I need to schedule my clean up?

Yes, it is important that you schedule your clean up with the proper department (Public Works or Parks) in order for us to give you proper recognition for your efforts and to better coordinate the program.

You may contact the Public Works Department and the Parks Department concerning any further questions regarding the program.
